Prof. Ing. Vladimir Marik, DrSc., drs.h.c.
The Chairman of the Board
In 1996 professor Mařík was one of the founders of CertiCon a.s., and he has been acting ever since then on its Board of Directors. He has been the Chairman of the Board and the Executive Director ever since 2010.
Professor Mařík’s main professiona interests include artifical intelligence, multi-agent and knowledge systems, soft computing and production planning and scheduling, applications. In basic research he has contributed in the areas of the pricessing of language in multi-agent systems. He is the co-author of more than 170 scientific publications and 5 US patents.
In 1989 professor Mařík received the Czechoslovak State Award for this scientific results, in 2003 the Austrian “Honory Cross for the Sciences and Arts” and in 2010 the prestigious “Česká hlava” award for invention.
Career
Professor Vladimír Mařík graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Czech Technical University. He was named a professor in the field of Technical Cybernetics in 1990. In 1997 professor Mařík became the head of the Control Technology Department, then in 1999 he formed and led, until 2013, the Department of Cybernetics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Czech Technical University, which received the prestigious “EU Centre of Excellence” title in 2000 and the European Commission’s European IST Prize in 2006.
He is one of the founders (and has also been the Director since 2013) of the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics, an academic institution of the Czech Technical University.
In addition to this, professor Mařík was the founder of the Rockwell Automation Research Center Praha, part of Rockwell Automation Inc., and in 1992 he was named the Executive Director of this centre, managing it for 17 years.
In 2006 he became the co-founder of the Czech Technical University Media Lab Foundation, established to support research undertaken by talented students and young researchers. From
the beginning he has been acting as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of this Foundation.
In 2010 he was named the Chairman of the Research Council of the Czech Technical Agency. From 2011 to 2015 he was a member of the Czech Government Council for Research, Development and Innovation.
In 2017 was honoured a Medal of Merit on 28th October from the hands of the President Milos Zeman. The medal has been awarded for service to the Czech Republic in the area of science.
Ing. Pavel Marek
Pavel Marek is a graduate of the Department of International Economic Relations at the Kiev
State University, where he specialised in international currency and loan policies.
In his previous experience he held a management position in the area of finance. He was a Financial Director in Czech and international companies (e.g. in the Bayer chemical and pharmaceutical company or Bauer Media publishing company) for many years.
He has been working as the Financial Director in CertiCon a.s. since 2008 and he is responsible for the management of the entire organisation’s finances.
Ing. Vladimir Marik, MBA
Vladimír Mařík is a graduate of the Department of Telecommunication Technologies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague, then of a post-graduate MBA programme at Sheffield Hallam University.
He began his career in professional positions in sales, project and product management. He subsequently worked in the position of Sales Representative for key customers in Empire (later the international company Capgemini), where he built up a wide client network. In 2010 he established and also continues to manage ProfConsult s.r.o., which is oriented on providing professional consultation in the area of IT and Telecommunications.
Ing. Mařík is the author of several trade publications, the co-creator of six industrial designs and also 3 patents, in the area of telecommunication technologies.
He has been working in CertiCon a.s. since 2012, first in the function of Sales Manager, then in the function of Business Solutions Director since 2015.
Ales Navratil
Began his career in specialised positions in the sphere of IT and telecommunications, in particular in the deployment and handling of servicing and supplies of services.
Over time, he gained experience in project and programme management positions in the sphere of retail and logistics, public administration, finance, and production. Of his most recent senior management positions we should mention his experience in the organisation and management of operation and changes within companies, including the installation of extensive information systems and ERP solutions.
He currently works as Chief Operations Officer (COO) and is accountable for ICT services, legal services, facilities, and other matters to concern the internal running of the company.
Ondrej Sipka
Ondrej Sipka is a graduate of Geoinformatics from VSB – Technical University of Ostrava. He began his career in the energy sector, and in the management of heat supplies. His work in the sphere of software development began in the position of test engineer in telecommunications, from where he moved to handling large e-commerce projects in the automotive industry.
He currently works as the Medical Solutions Division Director, where he is responsible for managing the portfolio of production and project activities in the sphere of design, development, verification and validation testing , focusing on the health industry segment.
He devotes his free time to sport, mountain hiking, cycling, and sport aviation.
Stanislav Zan
Stanislav Záň is a graduate in the field of telecommunications and information technologies, VUT. As a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication
(FEEC), he started his career as a technical consultant at a Brno-based company dealing with SW for corporate printing solutions.
Several years of experience gave him the opportunity to travel to almost all continents and get to know many different peoples and cultures.
Over the years, he grew in the role of team, project and subsequently branch manager in the field of customer support and SW services.
Since joining CertiCon, he has been involved in the development of cooperation and customer relations in the automotive sector, where he has been responsible many years for project and line management.
With the expansion of the automotive projects portfolio, he is now responsible for the operation of the Mobility Engineering division, which provides SW development and testing services for customers in this area.
He devotes his free time to his family, wife and two daughters. He pursues active relaxation through alpine tourism. In the summer, his great passion is mountain (enduro) cycling, and in winter he spends all his free time practicing ski mountaineering and getting exercise in the open mountains.
Ing. Adrian Karas, Ph. D.
Adrian Karas is a graduate of engineering in the field of instrumentation, information, and automation technology and of doctoral studies in the field of automation and control at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
After completing his studies, he began his career at a multinational company, where for the first few years he worked on the development, implementation, and administration of information systems, technologies, and services. Then, in the years that followed, he ran larger organisational and project-related IT units at various levels of management in Slovakia, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary.
He joined CertiCon a.s. in 2020 as Department Manager of the Medical Solutions Division and currently works at our company in the capacity of Director of the Software Solutions Division.
He spends his free time with his family – his wife and daughter – mainly embarking on days out together in the mountains and countryside, travelling, and exploring new places. As far as sports are concerned, he is actively engaged in endurance running, recreational hiking, cycling, and golf, and enjoys snowboarding in winter.
PhDr. Magda Lazanska
Magda Lažanská is a graduate of political and economic sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles’ University. She first encountered work in the field of HR during her studies, when she worked as a personnel consultant at Agentura Student. After completing her studies, she joined the public relations department of the Office of the Mayor of Liberec, where she gained valuable experience in dealing with people at the highest social level. After taking parental leave, she returned to HR in 2012.
She has extensive experience in the management and conception of personnel work, recruitment, and employee development, experience she has taken from companies that focus on industrial automation and from her five years of working at PPF banka.
She currently works as Human Resources Director at CertiCon.
Above all, she likes spending time with her family. She and her partner are raising three children together. Her other interests include foreign languages, psychology, and books.

CertiCon a.s., aware of the extraordinary social importance of educating the public in the area of the use of information and communication technologies, has long supported the introduction and development of a non-profit international ECDL concept of digital literacy and digital knowledge and skills in the Czech Republic. CertiCon a.s. has also contributed to the development and operation of a national information system for ECDL – tested WASET and workgroup, established in the Czech Society for Cybernetics and Informatics (CSCI), which is the guarantor of quality and the national authority of the ECDL concept.

We hold certificates for the design, development, testing, diagnostics and provisioning of software products, including the provisioning of consultation, outsourcing and other related services, as well for the design, development, testing and production of digital, analogue and mixed electronic circuit signals, including the provisioning of consultation, outsourcing and other related services.
ISO 13485
This certificate demonstrates our ability to develop healthcare devices and to provide related services that continually fulfil the relevant legal requirements and client requirements. We have expanded the application of healthcare standards and procedures for all of our various development activities, including the assessment of risk in the scope of all the projects, and without increasing expenses. That enables us to work on applications used in critical environments, from medicine to the financial sector.

This is an international standard that specifies the process for the management and
improvement of business performance and its effect on the environment.
ISO 45001
This standard is recognised internationally as a method for assessing and auditing the protection of occupational health and the management of safety systems. It was developed by leaders in the area of trade and international standards bodies. The standard provides companies and organisations with a framework for the proper and effective management of occupational health and safety.
All of our activities are managed by methods and standards leading to the achievement of successful development.
